You select how the answer to each question should be tracked in Google Analytics when using Outfox Survey:

You will be able to find survey responses in your Google Analytics reports in a few different ways, depending on how you’ve chosen to store responses. You may use content reports to view responses stored as virtual page views, event reports to view responses stored as events, and custom reports to view responses stored as custom variables. You may also analyze all three methods of storage by using advanced segments.

Your options for storing responses can be found below.

Virtual page view:
/surveys/survey_#/question_#/answer

In other words: survey number, question number, and the actual answer.
Example for survey #1, question #3, and answer “green”:
/surveys/survey_1/question_3/green

Event:
Category: survey_#
Action: question_#
Label: answer (answer)

In other words: survey number, question number, and the actual answer.
Example for survey #1, question #3, and answer “green”:
Category: survey_1
Action: question_3
Label: answer (green)

Custom variable:
Key: question_#
Value: answer

In other words: question number and the actual answer.
Example for survey #1, question #3, and answer “green”:
Key: question_3
Value: green

If you make an advanced segment that only includes visits matching any of the above criteria, you’ll be able to analyze the behavior of visitors who gave a specific answer.
